I say my prayers every night before bed. As childish as this may sound, I think that it is very helpful. I feel more centered and it helps me to look at the positive aspects of each day rather than focussing on the negative.
And no matter who or what you believe, or don't believe, in I feel like everyone should do this. Maybe not in the typical thanks/ask form of some prayers, but just a daily summary.
Whether you are praying to a higher power or just reminding yourself of what you have in life.
Think about what you accomplished today.
Think about what you have that others need.
Clean water, a warm home, food to fill you up. How can you share this?
Think about who you love.
Think about where you went and where you want to go.
Remember those that you miss and those that are sick.
Do this nightly to not only embrace your present life but also to help you quiet your mind, center your thoughts, and prepare for a restful night.
