Fresh Summer Friday

Phew!
What a week!  I have been so busy with work that my brain has been on fire the past few days.  That is okay though.  Busy is good, and we have some really great events coming up!  I will be embarrassing myself teaching Piloxing on TV next week so stay tuned for details a good laugh.

Time for the Fresh Friday link-up with Katherine.  I still think it is just so fun and inspiring to look back on the week and think of 3 things that made it great!  Join us here.
Time for the 3 things that made my week fresh and fun!

Shrimp and cactus in a garlic tomato sauce.  I think I want it for dinner tonight, too!

Summertime craziness with my boys and our puppsy.

Long summer evenings.  I just love it when the sky is still light after 9 pm.

So, how about you?
What has made your week fresh and fantastic?
What do you love about summer?

Let me know!

Fresh Friday!

Thank GOODness it's Friday!  I love the weekend, and this weekend is going to be filled with baseball! L is playing his final t-ball game of the season and E will be playing the championship game for his league tonight followed by a fun tournament this weekend.  Somehow I am also going to squeeze in a massage and a girls night as well.  Fun times!

So it is Friday, which means it is time for Katherine's weekly link-up!  Time to reflect on the last 7 days and think of a few things that made the week fresh and fantastic.

This Decision!

My Favorite Day of the Year!

Today is my most favorite day of the year.  More than my birthday, Christmas, Thanksgiving...any of those days?  Why?  Because this is the day we get THE most daylight.  Something about the summer solstice has always made me incredibly happy.  I love sun, summer, and long days so this day makes me very, very happy.  Although, if you think about it, winter starts tomorrow as the days slowly get shorter and shorter until December 21.  Wah, wah.  Debby Downer.
But, for today, I am living it up, enjoy the sun, hot weather, and the fact that there will still be a glow in the sky this evening until close to 10:00 pm!

So, how was your week?

It is Friday so that means that it is F R E S H Friday.  A great time to sit back, think about the week, and think of 3 things that made this week fabulously fresh for you.  Try it.  It is so very fun.  And then join the link-up with my dear Katherine here or, if you aren't the blogging type, let me know your 3 things in the comment section below.  Please!  Pretty please.  With an organic cherry and a drizzle of agave on top!

My 3 (clockwise from left):

1.  Getting to spread knowledge about EnergyBits while at a local event for the first time!  I love telling people about EnergyBits.  I think everyone is so used to a sales pitch about a chemical-filled supplement that takes a dictionary to figure out what is in it, that at first people have a hard time understanding the bits are 1 ingredient.  Organic algae, spriulina for EnergyBits, chlorella for RecoveryBits.  No fillers, no additives, just food.  I absolutely love that I get to share what bits are and not have to sell them. I share how EnergyBits and RecoveryBits have made me feel better, regulated my blood sugar, given me so much protein based energy for running and teaching and *bonus* made my hair and skin look amazing.  I always tell people about them, give them the info and then encourage them to do all of the research they want.  Then, head to bitsofhealth.com when ready to purchase a superfood that will superchange their life!  Oh, and don't forget to use the code HEART to save 15%  ;)

2.  Feeling skinny, if only for a day.  Last weekend I had a day where I felt like I looked great!  All that has changed today and I feel like a ginormo and am so over complaining about my extra weight and ready to make changes so that I can look and feel my best again.

3.  Finding a 4 leaf clover!  In my own backyard!  I had never found one before and this one just popped right out at me!  I am so saving it forever, even though I hung it upside down to dry rather than pressing it, so it looks pretty shriveled.  But I will know what it is.  Forever.

I hope you are finishing up a fantastic week and getting ready for a super weekend!  Enjoy your longest day of the year and the most daylight in one weekend we get!

xoxo

Fresh Friday, puppy edition!

I am SO happy it is the weekend!  We have a busy one planned with a trip to a local Slavic festival, lots of baseball games, and training our little puppy Ivy.

The Real Food Runner

This week was fresh and fantastic because...

I had a sleepover with my best friend AND we ran the Hospital Hill 10K.  Our newest tradition, I hope!

We got a puppy!  Her name is Ivy June and she is a Corgi/Blue Heeler mix!

My baby turned 11!  Isn't he handsome?

What made your week fresh and fabulous?  Tell me in the comment section below and/or join the link up here!

What are your weekend plans?

Whatever they are, have a great one!
Stay tuned!  Tomorrow I am starting a new weekly post called My Week In Clicks.  I will provide links to all of the things that I deemed click-worthy throughout the week, and hopefully you will share what you surfed, too!

Fresh Friday!

Ahh, so many things made this week fresh!  The first full week of summer with my boys, although summer is less fun as an adult since I still have work.  :)

I am still absolutely loving Katherine's Fresh Friday link-up.  With so much stress and negativity throughout the week, I just love taking a few moments to reflect on what made me smile.

My top 3 Fresh, Fabulous, Fun events from the week:

Trying this tasty, TJ's treat.

L "styling" his homemade playdough like one of my pictures for the blog.  I mean, really.  You can't see this and not melt into a puddle.

Bombtastic photos with my BFF!  We may not be 18 anymore but, shoot, we still got it!

How about you?  What made your week FRESH?

Fresh Friday May 24, 2013

Super sunny Friday.  I love it!
I have had 2 new students on the Pilates equipment this week and 3 for mat.  It is SO fun to meet new people and watch them (hopefully) fall in love with Pilates like me.
I was also asked to do a presentation for a local nursing school to discuss the benefits of yoga and Pilates for various patients that they will see.  SO exciting.  I also love sharing the why's and how's of fitness.

Time for Fresh Friday.  Although I really can't believe that it is already Friday and time to reflect on the fun, fresh, fantastic and funny (see #3) week!

+ I have a new addition in my car.  We call him "Guy" and Levi made him all on his own.  So creative, right?  Although, I have to admit, the ball cap on my head rest has startled me a few times when I go to look out the back window.  "Guy" now has a blade of grass sticking out of his mouth area.  Country guy!

+ Two boys that love to snuggle.  So much so that I sometimes have to ask them to not snuggle, like when I am drinking my (hot) morning coffee or trying to eat.  But I love that they love to cuddle and can't imagine not holding hands of waking up to one of them in my bed.  Or both.

+ My craft failure.  It still got gifted because the kids worked on it and I, of course, waited to the last minute so there was no other option.  But.  You tell me.  The great idea to have each child do a finger print to represent the teacher being #1...the fingers look more like, umm, a certain male body part, eh?  E is going to have the same teacher next year so I need to start planning her Christmas gift now.  What kind of gift says "Sorry your end of the year project should be titled Gold Member"?

So, what made your week fresh and fun?  Link up with Katherine here or leave me your comments below.

Have a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend.
Tomorrow I am running a 5K right by my house and then we have an afternoon wedding to go to.
Sunday we will be meeting our maybe puppy, a corgi/blue heeler mix.
Monday.  Is up for grabs!
How about you?

It's Friday and it's Fresh!

I am so happy it's Friday!  I can't wait for the sun to shine and to head out this evening to watch both of my babies play baseball!  Life is good.

Time for my Fresh Friday link-up with The Real Food Runner.

Three fresh, fantastic, fabulous things from this week:

Goodies from my pen pal.  I have been slacking as of late in the pen pal department and this amazing package of treats from my dearest pal in San Diego has lit the fire under me to get some snail mail shipped out!  Bonus:  I finally have matcha powder!  Bring on the green tea frappucinos at home!

Being powered by bits!  Loving how I am feeling more and more each day!

The start of something fun.  I hope.  I followed a Pinterest tutorial on how to plant lemon seeds to have fragrant and hearty lemon leaves.  I planted on Wednesday.  Fingers crossed that my little seedlings will be blooming soon!

Fresh Friday May 3, 2013

I can't believe it is the first Friday in May!  Kansas City saw snow last night, with rooftops and yards covered in white this morning.

This may look spring-like but there was a sleet/rain mix falling and it was about 40*

I am so happy that the Fresh Friday link-up with Kat is back this week.  I had such a busy day today, a quick trip to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art with big EZ, squeezing in a few students, kiddo pick-up and now I am working on a Friday evening as the studio I manage is hosting AcroYoga.  Phew!
But I wanted to make sure to record 3 things that made my week fresh.  Fun.  Fantastic.

1  Getting to do a style post shoot with a human (JF) as the photographer rather than a tripod and Camera+.

2  Cinnamon sprinkled kiwi.  Have you tried it?  If not, it's a must!

3  Baseball season begins!  First time to have both L and E playing for a rec league.  Monday and Tuesday were filled with baseball games and it was SO much fun!  I hope the rest of the season is filled with as much sun and fun as the first games!

Alrighty.  What made your week fabulous?  Link-up here OR if you aren't the blogging type leave your 3 fresh feelings in the comment section below!

TGIF!

Fresh Friday April 12, 2013

Real Food Runner

Oh my gosh!  What a Friday.  My Fridays at work used to be on the slow side, but thanks to a lot of hard work and great students referring students, my Fridays are filled!  5 classes IN A ROW today, 4 one-on-one Reformer sessions and one group class (Cycle+Yoga.)  I love it.  But it is quite exhausting teaching, lifting, shaping the body in front of me.  Rewarding and great.
So, I've washed the people off of my hands and had a snack and can reflect back on the week and what made is fresh and fantastic!

  • Time to take some photos for upcoming blogs!  I often have many ideas that I just can't make the time to take photos for so they sit on the back burner.  This week I got a few new projects photographed and it feels great!
  • Fruity Pebble Cupcakes!  Inspired by Pinterest I made these for L's birthday party.  Not only do they look fun, they taste great.  The cereal adds a nice little crunch.  Easy peasy instructions:  Funfetti cake mix, buttercream frosting, pour Fruit Pebbles in a bowl and dip/roll the iced part of the cupcake in the cereal.  Simple yet impressive!
  • Kids Yoga!  L chose to have a kids yoga party for his birthday.  He had never taken part in a kids yoga class and it was amazing!  The kids loved it, the parents loved it, and no one left in tears like is so often the case with loud, arcade/bounce house parties.
So, how was your week?  Sit back, take a breath, and think of three things that made your week fresh.  To join the link-up go to Katherine's blog.  Not the blogging type?  Leave your three things below!

Happy Weekend!

Fresh Friday March 29

Real Food Runner

I can't believe it is already the end of March!

A special someone is turning 5 on the 31st.  I cannot believe my babiest baby is turning 5.

Okay.  Drying my eyes and moving on to Fresh Friday.  Three things that made this week extra special fun and freshly fantastic:

My hello, Kitty biscuit case.  Looks like saltines and is oh-so amazing, right???

Getting to hang out with my sister from another mister!

(Finally!) Got to go for a run outside.  And not bundle up like I am on Hoth.  It was just what I needed!

Fresh Friday

It's Friday!  This has been my first full week back at work since the Snowpocalypse that hit Kansas City the last two weeks.  I have to say, it has been nice to get back to a normal schedule.  Snow days are fun, but since my job is scheduled out with students each hour, missing a day or two really throws a wrench in the works.

Fresh Friday!

Again, I can't say enough how much I love this link-up.  It is so easy to get caught up in the negative, stressful happenings of the week.  Doing this link-up causes me to take a look at the last 7 days and find 3 things that were fresh.  Fabulous.  Fantastic.  Fun.

So, even if you aren't a blogger, even if you don't post it anywhere but in your mind, please join me in conjuring up 3 things that made your week fresh.  I would love to hear what yours are!

Dinner with friends + hot yoga.  I love both so much and I always say I should do both more often.

Fruits!
L has been eating fruit like crazy this week!  He loves to help slice and prep, too.  He even tried celery this way!  Kid tip: let your kids help out with fruit and veggie prep and they will be more likely to try the foods.  L requested a piece of celery to chop and then popped a piece in his mouth!  He didn't love it, but at least he tried, right?

Fresh spinach, tomatoes and avocado are making my week.  YUM!

Fresh Friday!

We survived the snow storm!  One thing that made this week fresh was that I was off yesterday and today!  I have been achy from head to know, painful sinuses, and just needed a break, you know?  So this has been great.

Now for my official 3 things that made my week fresh and fantastic:

Receiving this Manduka yoga towel!  I can't wait to try it out!

Looking this skinny!  I have felt pretty bad about my weight lately because I am up about 10 pounds from a year ago.  So seeing myself in this picture makes me think that some of the weight truly is muscle mass and not all candy.

Playing and walking in the snow.  Today was sunny and not too cold or windy.  It was perfect for getting outside!  With snow drifts at 2-3 feet it was super fun to run and jump.  More on that later ;)

Okay...so what 3 things made your week fresh?  Leave your comment below or join the link-up with Kat!

Fresh Friday!

Oh my gosh.  The weeks are flying by in 2013, aren't they?  I can't believe it's already February 8!
I got really exciting news today that a local news program is coming to the Studio next week.  More on that when it happens!

Now for the Fresh Friday Link-up.  To join in the fun head to Katherine's blog.

I would love to hear what 3 things made your week fresh and fantastic, so even if you don't blog for the link-up please leave a comment below!

1.  imadeface app is silly fun!  I tried to make myself and was having a really difficult time.  I hear all the time that I look like Nicole Richie so I switched gears and made it look like her and I think I did pretty well.  What do you think?  Does it look like me?  The reason this app made my Fresh Friday list is because I just realize that it will provide entertainment for L.  He loves making Mii people on the Wii so this will come in handy at ball games, waiting rooms and while shopping.  Anything that gives me extra mommy-minutes is totally fantastic!

2.  My burpee challenge!  I tested the challenge last month but now that I have others joining me it has made it so much more fun!  I love hearing from my friends about how they are doing.  Have you started the challenge?  It's never too late, your day 1 can be when you choose it!  Check it out here!

3.  Star Wars!  I love Star Wars.  I found this out later in life than some.  When 3-6 were re-released in the mid-90's I had never seen them.  When Episode 1 came out I waited in line for tickets and went to a midnight showing, but more being a good friend to Veronica than out of my own desire.  I think I fell asleep.  Oops.  But then Ezman came along and he was obsessed!  We watched every movie 1,000 times.  We watched Episode II the day before III came out and at the midnight showing of Revenge of the Sith I was cheering and crying right along with the other Star Wars fans.
I laugh at Jango Fett jokes.  I want to smack Jar Jar Binks.  I love and hate George Lucas and could talk for hours (or days) about the discrepancies between the trilogies that prove that he did NOT write them in order.  I mean, c'mon.  Obi Wan and Darth Vader come face to face in Episode IV and he just says "hello, Darth."  First, he would call him Anakin.  Or at least Vader.  Not Darth, basically Mr.  Wouldn't he say "Hey, Anakin.  What's up?  Last time I saw you I had just chopped your legs off and you were on fire.  Look how far you've come in your Sith evil plan!" Or at least "Look...R2-D2 is still around, crazy, huh?"
Oh gosh,  I'm sorry.  I'm rambling.  So...the reason Star Wars made THIS week fresh and fantastic is because Levi is not getting really into Star Wars.  Watching the movies, playing the Lego games and with our Galactic Heros.  We have great conversations about Jango and Boba Fett.  About light saber colors.  So I am just soaking up every minute and enjoying having a new buddy to talk Star Wars with.

Fresh Friday February 1

It's time for the Fresh Friday link-up and this week Katherine from The Real Food Runner asked what 3 blessings showered my week.  So...here we go!

I ran and finished the Groundhog 5K!  While running 3.2 miles is not that great of a distance for me currently, I know that it truly is a blessing to have two legs and a strong body to be able to do these fun races.  I also started the day with an upset stomach so just being able to run without any issues was a blessing in itself.  I also didn't flip out in a cave!  I don't really have issues with enclosed spaces, BUT, I had never run in a cave before, and being the anxiety-thinker that I am, was nervous that I would panic.  So, in my ongoing attempt to push myself out of my comfort zone, I signed up for this race.  And I was just fine :)

We had a beautiful sunshiny day on Monday.  Right around 70*.

My 14 year old cousin with Cystic Fibrosis is making small improvements each day this week.  She currently lives in Florida and I have not seen her for several years, but I babysat her when I was in college and I just adore every single one of my cousins, first or thrice removed.  I have been following updates on a blog that her aunt is keeping and in the past few months there have been some really scary moments and some really amazing moments.  While she still is hospitalized and breathing with assistance, they are seeing small (yet big!) improvements each day.  Please say a prayer or think a happy thought not only for little D.G. but for all with Cystic Fibrosis.  Appreciate each breath you take.

So.  I want to know!  What 3 blessings showered your week?  Blog about it and join the link up via Katherine's page or, if you aren't a blogger, leave yours in the comment space below!

While you are here, make sure you go to my giveaway and enter to win a beautiful, hand-stitched Mantra bracelet!

Fresh Friday!

Hello!
It's Friday, which means another link up with Katherine of The Real Food Runner.
Have I mentioned how much I love this link up?
I really do, and if you are blogger it's so much fun to have a positive post each week that shares just a bit about you.
If you are not a blogger, I still highly recommend stepping back, thinking about the last 7 days, and finding 3 things that made your week fresh, fun, fabulous and any other positive word that starts with and F :)

Here's mine for this week:

1.  I have a new favorite packable snack.  Of course it includes a Babybel cheese, grapes, cucumbers and my new favorite: Wasabi Trek Mix from Trader Joe's.  My uncle sends us a TJ's gift box every year and I just love it.  I usually end up finding a few new favorite items that I would otherwise just pass right by.  A bite of cheese and a few of the wasabi peas and nuts makes my taste buds sing!

2.  My friend Jessica asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding!  I am so excited!!  I love being in weddings.  It really is the best to get to help with the planning, go to the shower and bridal party and to get dressed up all fancy and have tons of fun celebrating a new life for two people.

3.  Dinner with friends!  JF and I love hanging out with friends and last Saturday we went to dinner with the newly engaged couple, Jessica and Cory.  We ate at Westside Local in KC so I also got to see my best friends girlfriend, because she works there.  Spending time with friends is one of my favorite things to do.

So, tell me:

What made your week fresh?

Whats your favorite snack to pack?

Do you love or hate being in weddings?

When was the last time you went out with friends?

What's that?  You want to take part in MY link up?  Great!  Click here and Let's Be Friends!

Have a great Friday and enjoy your weekend!

First Fresh Friday of 2013!

Hooray, it's Friday!  It almost feels like I need the weekend MORE when there is a holiday than when there isn't.  I am kind of exhausted from all of the Christmas and New Years activities.
This week was really fun and it flew by.  Thinking back to last Friday and then to today it seems like I blinked and it was gone.

I just can't say enough how much I love taking part in the Fresh Friday link up!  It really is great to look back on the week and find 3 things that made my week great.  I usually end up with way more than 3 and it helps me to think positively on a day that tends to be stressful.  Join in!

Real Food Runner

Three things that made my week Fresh and Fun:

It snowed on New Years Eve Day!  Big, fat flakes that were beautiful to watch.  We went for an afternoon walk around the block in the snow.  It was cold but very fun and just what we needed after a day inside.  It was fun to talk about how it sounds and feels different outside when it is snowing.

I was able to kiss all 3 of my sweethearts at midnight.  How great is that?

New Years Day meant heading into work for 108 Sun Salutations.  I had planned to take part in the entire class, but due to management duties, I was only able to get in about 50 Sun Salutations.  It was still a great experience.  I love the 108, this was my second.  I have a very busy mind so it is nice to do this and focus on my breathing, finding my own rhythm, and the added bonus of challenging my body in a new way is nice, too!

Have you ever taken part in a 108?

How did you spend your New Years Eve and New Years Day?

Fresh Friday 12.21.12

Real Food Runner

Happy Friday to my friends!  This week I think we all looked at our lives a bit differently, cherishing small moments just a little more and taking time to enjoy the world around us.  For me, taking part in the Fresh Friday link up has been doing that as well.  Picking 3 things that made my week happy.  Here's this weeks:

Taking my boys and my sister to see The Nutcracker.  I really like to watch ballet and it was fun to do something with my sister!

Enjoying Christmas with my family and indulging my boys requests just a little more than usual :)

Taking a few fun gift card promo pictures for the studio.  This one will be "Give Flexibility."  See--I am holding a gift card.  I love my ideas!

So, tell me:  what made your week, the last week before Christmas, Fresh?
